Sheetz, Ripken Baseball to Host Free Youth Clinics This Spring

Program will include training on fielding, hitting and throwing

BALTIMORE — Sheetz is partnering with Ripken Baseball for Sheetz Community Clinics presented by Ripken Baseball, which will provide 12 free baseball clinics to children. The clinics will be available April through June for players of all levels between the ages of seven and 14 in Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, North Carolina and Pennsylvania.

“As a family-owned and operated company, we strive to give back and be the best neighbor we can be in every community we serve,” said Nick Ruffner, public relations manager at Sheetz. “We’re excited to be partnering with Ripken Baseball to provide free clinics to kids located throughout our six-state footprint. These camps will provide valuable training and experiences as well as lifelong memories.”

Registration is free for all attendees. Players will receive three hours of fielding, hitting and throwing practice with Ripken Baseball instructors, as well as a Sheetz treat, fruit and a player gift.

“Ripken Baseball is thrilled to team up with Sheetz to bring the game of baseball to communities where Sheetz is a staple for families,” said Amanda Shank, vice president of business development for Ripken Baseball. “We encourage parents to register their children and enjoy a fun baseball environment in their hometowns.”

The clinic schedule will include the following cities and dates:

  • April 14: Arlington, Va.
  • April 14: Frederick, Md.
  • April 15: Richmond, Va.
  • April 15: Hagerstown, Md.
  • April 27: Harrisburg/York, Pa.
  • May 4: Morgantown, W.Va.
  • May 31: Greensboro, N.C.
  • May 31: Columbus, Ohio
  • June 1: Raleigh, N.C.
  • June 1: Pittsburgh
  • June 2: Cleveland
  • June 15: Charleston, W.Va.

Altoona, Pa.-based Sheetz operates more than 640 convenience stores throughout Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Ohio and North Carolina.
