Four convenience-store chains made the Fortune magazine and Great Place to Work’s Best Workplaces in Retail 2025 list: Sheetz, The Spinx Co., QuikTrip and Wills Group/Dash In.

Sheetz landed the No. 2 spot on the large-company list, trailing grocery retailer Wegmans Food Markets Inc., based in Rochester, New York. The Spinx Co. was No. 7 and QuikTrip was No. 14.

Wills Group and its Dash In c-store brand landed at spot No. 9 on the “small and medium” list.

  • Sheetz is No. 13 on CSP’s 2025 Top 202 ranking of largest c-store chains by U.S. store count. QuikTrip Corp. is No. 9, The Spinx Co. is No. 77 and Wills Group/Dash In is No. 123

This annual list highlights the top companies in the United States that have succeeded in business while also demonstrating outstanding respect, care and concern for their employees and their communities. Great Place to Work surveyed companies representing a combined workforce of 8.4 million people in the U.S. and received 1.3 million survey responses. List rankings are determined by employee feedback, which Great Place to Work analyzes to evaluate how widely these experiences are shared throughout the organization.

Sheetz, Spinx and Wills Group also made the 2024 list

Other grocery retailers that made this year’s large-company list include Publix Super Markets (No. 3), Target Corp. (No. 5) and Island Pacific Supermarket (No. 9).

Here’s a closer look at how the convenience-store chains performed:
