AMARILLO, Texas -- Local news reports out of Amarillo, Texas, suggest a 75-unit chain of convenience stores may be changing ownership soon.
KFDA News Channel 10 reported this past week that several of the chain’s stores in the Texas Panhandle have been without gasoline for several days, and employees have said that a sale is in the works.
“At this point, managers and employees we spoke with on the phone, say they are not being told what is happening,” the report states. “A few of the employees say they have heard another company is buying them out.” Some mentioned a possible bankruptcy, but no papers have been filed as of Friday.
Taylor Food Mart officials said the chain is up for sale and has a confidentiality agreement with a potential purchaser, according to the report. Company officials would not comment any further.
“As far as the gas goes, they were not able to tell us if and when … Taylor Food Mart's gas pumps will be back up and running,” the report states. Taylor Food Marts are owned by Taylor Petroleum Co., Amarillo, Texas.
