LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Thorntons is seeking 50 new team members for its east end Louisville, Ky., convenience stores through its first drive-thru hiring event on Sept. 4 at its Shelbyville Road store.

Company recruiters, regional managers and general managers will be on site to answer questions about the positions and conduct on-the-spot interviews.

Our drive-thru hiring event is a convenient way to connect with candidates while maintaining social distancing during these unique times,” Kerri Arnold, spokesperson for Thorntons, told CSP Daily News, referring to the COVID-19 pandemic. “We’ll be able to answer questions, provide on-the-spot interviews and make same-day job offers through a safe and easy format.”

Thorntons employees receive competitive weekly salary; quarterly bonus incentives; and free shift meals and dispensed beverages; health, dental and vision coverage for those working an average of 30 hours per week; 401k with company match; store discounts; and referral bonuses. All full-time and part-time store employees who join the company in September are eligible for a bonus to be paid out at the end of the month. Applicants must be at least 20 years old.

Based in Louisville, Thorntons operates more than 200 c-stores in six states: Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee and Florida. It is a vertically integrated company with its own fuel terminal, blending plants, transportation fleet and commissary.

In late 2018, London-based BP announced a joint-venture partnership with a private-equity firm and purchased Thorntons, a move which marked the reentry of the oil company into c-store retailing.
