Though the weather may not feel like it yet in all parts of the country, convenience-store retailers are getting ready for summer.

Convenience-store chains such as Wawa, Casey’s, Rutter’s, Kent Kwik and QuickChek are promoting summer deals for food and drink. Some chains are also tapping into mobile gaming and offering daily prizes and bigger sweepstakes.

Loyalty programs and forecourt channels can be a good way to get customers to try a c-store retailer’s drinks in the first place, Keith Broviak, business partner at Pittsburgh-based CSD Solutions, said at CSP’s Dispensed Beverages Forum in April in Lombard, Illinois.

“And don’t forget dispensed beverages today could be a really good value play,” he said. “With all the costs that are increasing with single-serve beverages, this could create your fountain as your low-cost hero. And I'm not saying give it away, I’m saying it could be an advantage or an option.”

Loyalty today is no longer about just random discounts, Broviak said.

Wawa

Wawa, Wawa, Pennsylvania, is offering exclusive bonus offers for rewards members, including:

  • $1 self-serve coffee up to 24 ounces
  • $2 iced coffee up to 32 ounces
  • $1 Wawa 16-ounce teas and fruit drinks

The offers are available through June 22.

Casey’s

Caseys, Ankeny, Iowa, is offering 89-cent medium fountain or frozen drinks this summer.

The chain is also offering summer pizza deals: four large single-topping pizzas for $44; two large single-topping and two specialty pizzas for $52; and four large specialty pizzas for $58.

Through September 2, new Casey’s rewards members can play the game in the Casey’s app for a chance to win an instant prize every day.

Rutter’s

Rutter’s will reward VIP Members during its 2025 High Roller Summer Sweepstakes. The York, Pennsylvania-based chain will give away more than $400,000 in prizes to its VIP customers over the summer months. One VIP customer will win $25,000.

For each participating item purchased at a Rutter’s location, customers will get the chance to spin for a one-in-four chance of winning an instant prize or sweepstakes entry.

Instant prizes include free food and drinks from participating companies, including Coke, Pepsi, Red Bull, Monster, Bucked Up, ZOA, Celsius, Hershey, Rutter’s Dairy and more.

Instant prizes also include $50 Rutter’s gift cards and $1,000 in cash. Sweepstakes entries provide a chance to win one of multiple giveaways of free fuel for a year or the grand prize of $25,000!

Rutter’s High Roller Summer Sweepstakes is running until September 1.

Kent Kwik

Kent Kwik, a convenience-store chain based in Midland, Texas, is bringing back its summer beverage promotion this summer, according to a Facebook post.

The chain is offering 20-ounce beverages for 69 cents, 32-ounce beverages for 79 cents and 44-ounce beverages for 89 cents.

QuickChek

Convenience-store chain QuickChek, a wholly owned subsidiary of El Dorado, Arkansas-based Murphy USA, is launching new deals for summer, including two new subs, a Nerds cookie, $3 lattes after 3 p.m., and shake mashups and cool colada smoothies.

The $4.99 menu includes 6-inch subs and all-new subwiches, served both warm or cold on fresh-baked bread. The new subwich handles like a sandwich but eats like a sub, the Whitehouse Station, New Jersey-based c-store chain said.
