WAWA, Pa. —Wawa Inc. is selecting up to 100 organizations to honor in its Catering to Our Communities initiative, and each winner will receive a Wawa-catered party for 30 employees on March 4, National Employee Appreciation Day.

Nominations were accepted from schools, hospitals, first responders, senior centers and childcare centers, among other community service organizations. Submissions were encouraged to include heartfelt stories about the heroes within the organization. The winners will be selected from Wawa’s operating area and sent a kit of tablecloths, clappers and festive selfie props, and treated to a catered party of hoagies and chips, soft pretzels, chocolate chip cookies and Wawa Teas to enjoy on March 4.

“As a company committed to caring for local friends and neighbors, Wawa has launched the Catering to Our Communities initiative to extend care to those unsung heroes who have tirelessly served their communities these past few challenging years,” said Chris Gheysens, president and CEO of Wawa.

Wawa operates nearly 700 c-stores in the Mid-Atlantic region—including Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Virginia and Washington, D.C.—and more than 200 in Florida.
