Wawa Opens First Indiana Store

Convenience chain begins business in Daleville, plans to launch Noblesville and Clarkesville locations later this month

Wawa opened its first Indiana store on Thursday in Daleville, while stores in Noblesville, and Clarkesville, Indiana are set to open later this month, on May 22 and May 30, respectively.

The Daleville location is located at 16100 W. Commerce Road. 

The Wawa, Pennsylvania-based convenience-store chain has plans to open 10 stores in Indiana. Over the next five to eight years, Wawa aims to build and open eight to 12 stores per year in the state with plans to open up to 60 stores in the state.

Wawa currently has more than 23 sites under contract across several Indiana counties. Those sites are going through the local land development and permitting processes and include locations in the counties of Clark, Dearborn, Delaware, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Johnson, Madison, Marion, Scott, Tippecanoe and Wayne.

Along with the Noblesville and Clarkesville locations, Wawa began construction on the following Indiana stores in 2024, with projected openings in the second quarter 2025:

  • 3835 E. 96th St., Indianapolis
  • 5550 W. 86th St., Indianapolis
  • 8 W. 176th St., Westfield, Indiana
  • 60 E. Garner Road, Brownsburg, Indiana
  • 5957 W. US Highway 40, Cumberland, Indiana

The chain is also building stores in Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, North Carolina and Georgia.

Wawa has approximately 1,100 locations open in eight states: Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Florida, North Carolina and Alabama, as well as Washington, D.C.
