While email continues to be the predominant form of business communication, one research firm says its use on average is declining, with people opting instead for social networking sites, instant messaging (IM), mobile IM and text messaging.
That said, email accounts are growing because people need them to sign up for things such as social media accounts and IM. At the same time, the majority of email traffic in 2014 came from business emails, with that number expected to grow by 29% in four years, according to Palo Alto, Calif.-based Radicati Group, a digital research firm.
