Grand Opening: QuickChek's Treasure Island (Slideshow)

Convenience-store chain storms the Long Island market with hearty eats on a robust site

Yes, it’s true. QuickChek is now on Long Island.

As a devout believer in fresh, our company has maintained its core trade market area of New Jersey and the Hudson Valley of New York, and we’ve now made our way into Long Island.

We will continue to expand in our trade area, offering superior facilities, coffee voted the highest quality in the United States, and freshly made subs on bread baked in store, also with the same quality recognition. All of this is delivered by the friendliest teams in our industry, who practice what we call total customer dedication. Staying true to our New York metropolitan roots, and building our stores one at a time, allows us to maintain the culture and customer service our team members and customers deserve and expect.

Our new Lake Grove store on Long Island has all of the signature QuickChek categories and programs. Access to the site is easy thanks to a great corner position on 3 acres, allowing full and easy movement around the store, with 81 parking positions.

Our signature Q logo and green canopy invite motorists to one of the largest fuel islands in Long Island, with 16 positions, including diesel, at value pricing. Inside the nearly 6,600-square-foot store, customers have a full landing area in which to assess the store while being greeted by our team members.

Something for Everyone

In a channel-blurring era in which foodservice is drawing greater attention, QuickChek has long been ahead of the curve. And our newest location is no different.

The first thing one sees on the right is a full seating area that complements our best-in-class food and beverage offer, followed by a 20-foot fountain wall with 16 valves, six barrels of QuickFreeze frozen carbonated beverage, two Lipton Tea urns and two f’Real blenders. Continuing down the beverage offer, customers make their way to our 21-foot coffee bar with more than 10 varieties of coffees, including our new sustainably sourced Reserve Coffee blend, along with four varieties of self-serve iced coffee. All of these are adjacent to the coffee fixing bar with the widest array of lighteners, sweeteners, cups and lid styles available anywhere.

Next to the coffee bar area is our QCafe Handcrafted Expresso Bar, offering barista-prepared cappuccinos, frozen lattes, fruit smoothies and more.

When you round the far corner, our bakery oven is in full sight. We heartily believe in theater, and our customers enjoy seeing our sub rolls and cookies produced and packaged on site. Our menu, easily customized via touchscreen

ordering kiosks, features a wide variety of signature and customizable subs, salads, wraps and breakfast offers. This offer is complemented by our walk-around grab-and-go case, filled primarily with products prepared in store. Completing the foodservice offer is a six-pot soup center with the highest-quality soups available.

New and Improved

We are proud of the variety of beverages in our 20-door cold vault, which includes eight doors of beer. We also have a 22-foot craft-beer section with mix-and-match six-packs.

As is typical of our stores, we segment our take-home fill-in grocery offer based on the individual store demographics. While on a great commuter road, this store also has a neighborhood feel with a larger grocery set than you might find in a more highway-accessible store.

There is also something new at our Lake Grove location. Helping to satisfy millennials and others looking for healthy

products—in addition to our salads and fresh-made offers such as veggie wraps and subs—this store boasts a new, expanded natural-snack section. And because everyone needs to indulge at times, there is a new candy section dedicated to high-end chocolates.

There is something else distinctive about our Lake Grove store. It’s not additional merchandising. Rather, we’ve added a training base for our team members that is 859 square feet and charts an exciting move we believe will be invaluable as we expand across Long Island’s Suffolk and Nassau counties.
