Energy North Group Acquires 6 C-Stores

LAWRENCE, Mass. — Energy North Group (ENG), parent company of Haffner’s, has purchased six c-stores with gasoline, two heating-oil companies, one car wash and one property in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine.

It has acquired four Mobil-branded stations in Ashland, Manchester, New Hampton and Plymouth, N.H.; the Groton Exchange (now Haffner’s brand) in Groton, Mass.; and a Gulf-branded station in Winthrop, Mass. The car wash is in Littleton, Mass., and the property is in Haverhill, Mass. All were purchased from undisclosed sellers.

ENG also has acquired Ayer Oil in Ayer, Mass., and Jenkins Oil in Elliot, Maine.

Haffner’s Service Station was founded in 1925. Lawrence, Mass.-based Haffner’s Energy Group Inc. operates 13 gas stations, one Haffner’s c-store, one Kicksmart c-stores, 12 car washes and heating oil and propane delivery services in the Merrimack Valley in Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire. ENG has wholesale distribution and retail operations throughout New England and New York.
