IRVING, Texas — To coincide with Cinco de Mayo, 7Eleven is launching Mini Spicy Breakfast Empanadas, an all-day breakfast item featuring sausage, egg, cheese, peppers and spices wrapped in a flaky, buttery crust.

The empanada, selling at participating 7Eleven and Stripes convenience stores, is available through May 24.

“At 7Eleven, we're always looking for creative ways to meet customer needs,” said Robin Murphy, senior director of fresh food at 7Eleven. “Cinco de Mayo is the perfect opportunity for us to not only introduce new items which meet the demand for spicy food options but exceed expectations with an exclusive deal of three Mini Breakfast Empanadas and any size coffee for $4 for 7Rewards members. If customers are looking for inspiration, this savory menu item pairs perfectly with the sweet flavors of our limited-time-only Churroccino hot beverage.”

The 7Rewards loyalty program can be found in the 7Eleven app.

In addition, Irving, Texas-based 7-Eleven is offering the new Sweet & Savory Breakfast Taquito, which features maple-flavored sausage, egg and cheese. This limited-time offer (LTO), available all day at participating 7Eleven, Speedway and Stripes stores, is made with whole eggs, savory pork sausage and cheddar cheese sauce coated with a sweet maple-flavored batter. To round out a hearty breakfast, customers can pair a taquito with any sized iced coffee for $1.

“With our maple-flavored sausage taquito, customers have a craveworthy on-the-go breakfast at their fingertips, morning, noon or night,” Murphy said.

Irving, Texas-based 7-Eleven, which in March launched a limited-time black bean burger, operates, franchises or licenses more than 77,700 stores in 19 countries and regions, including about 9,500 in the United States under the 7-Eleven banner, about 3,800 under the Speedway banner and about 500 under the Stripes flag, as well as the Laredo Taco Company and Raise the Roost Chicken and Biscuits brands.
