7-Eleven Expands Jones Soda Partnership

Retailer will bring craft sodas and Slurpees to another 1,000 c-stores

SEATTLE -- 7-Eleven Inc. has expanded its partnership with Jones Soda Co. to bring more variety to its fountain and frozen-dispensed business.

Previously, 7-Eleven made several craft-soda flavors available at its locations in Oregon and Washington. The regional flavors will now roll out to more than 1,000 stores in northern California and Canada. The new flavors include:

  • 7-Select Blueberry Lemonade on the fountain at participating stores in the Pacific Northwest and Northern California.
  • Jones Blue Bubblegum Slurpees in the Pacific Northwest.
  • Jones Berry Lemonade flavor on the fountain in Canada.

“7-Eleven proprietary beverages, including the 7-Select brand, are all about quality, fun and unexpected flavors,” said Jacob Barnes, 7-Eleven senior category manager. “Jones, along with its fun flavors and unique brand personality, is a great fit for all of our cold-beverage platforms.”

The convenience-store chain’s partnership with Jones began in 2016 with 7-Select brand craft sodas. 7-Eleven and Jones Soda are set to release new limited-time 7-Select flavors in 2018.

The Jones Soda collaboration is just one of several proprietary beverage launches and expansions in the past year. The retailer is testing Fizzics Sparkling Cold Brew Coffee in self-chilling cans in the Los Angeles area. In March, the company introduced its line of premium blend coffee called Seven Reserve. In November, 7-Eleven created new private-label, vintage-dated wines, made with grapes grown and harvested in California.

7-Eleven Inc., the largest c-store retailer in the United States, is based in Irving, Texas, and operates, franchises or licenses more than 66,000 stores in 17 countries.
