7-Eleven Promotes Special Treats for Halloween

Retailer rounds out the month with deals on pizza, candy, Slurpees

IRVING, Texas -- To lure customers into its stores this week, convenience-store giant 7-Eleven Inc. is marketing a range of Halloween-themed treats, as well as special prices on pizza.

With October being National Pizza Month—and Halloween one of the top pizza-selling days of the year—7-Eleven is marketing a $5 deal on whole pizzas. Available in cheese, pepperoni and Extreme Meat, the pizzas are fast-baked and ready to eat in 3 minutes. The chain is promoting the specially priced meal for families, since Halloween falls on a Tuesday, when parents may be in need of a quick and easy dinner meal.

7-Eleven is also promoting a limited-time, white-colored Ghost White Gummi Slurpee. The pineapple-flavored Slurpee joins the new deep orange-colored, sweet-hot Airheads Mango Chili Slurpee Lite flavor for a limited time. Both Slurpee flavors also come in an exclusive candy form—7-Select Ghost White Gummi Bears and limited-edition Mango Chili Airheads candy.

7-Eleven is also offering a special Halloween straw again. This year's straws feature Oscar the Airheads mascot with bat wings or vampire teeth. Suggested retail price is 99 cents.

"Halloween is a frightfully fun holiday, and 7-Eleven wants to play along with treats for kids, as well as ways to make the holiday easier for mom and dad," said Laura Gordon, 7-Eleven vice president of marketing and brand innovation. "A holiday of dressing up and eating candy is especially popular with kids, teens and young adults—the ages of some of our most frequent shoppers. Ghost-White Slurpee drinks, gummi bears and other Halloween treats will give them one more reason to stop by 7-Eleven."

7-Eleven stores are also offering oversized marshmallow lollipops featuring Frankenstein and mummy characters, along with colorful Dia de los Muertos folk-style skulls. Other new candy items include jelly kabobs with bats, pumpkins and ghosts on skewers, Blue Raspberry Mummy Ooze, Cherry Vampire Blood squeeze candy and bloodshot 7-Select Gummi Eyeballs.

Participating stores also have Halloween-themed cookies, including frosted sugar cookies in monster green and witches' purple with sprinkles, as well as decorated pumpkin and sugar skull cookies.

Based in Irving, Texas, 7-Eleven is the world's largest convenience-store chain and is ranked No. 1 on CSP's 2017 Top 202 list of the largest c-store chains in the United States.
