LOS ANGELES -- Aryzta North America plans to launch a frozen cookie dough line extension at its bakery in Chaska, Minn. The move will increase the bakery’s production capacity and throughput by about 40%, according to the company.

The facility, which also processes Otis Spunkmeyer cookies and branded cookies for retail and foodservice operators, is set to add the third line in March.

“We are responding to increased demand of our popular Otis Spunkmeyer cookies, as well as custom cookies produced for our customers,” said Dave Johnson, CEO of Aryzta North America. “Chaska’s third line will enable us to meet our customers’ frozen cookie dough needs across foodservice, convenience and retail channels. We are investing to further strengthen our supply chain to better support our customers.”

Aryzta also plans to hire 30 new workers to keep up with its expanded operations.

The state-of-the-art line will be able to adapt to multiple formats and configurations based on customers’ specifications.

Aryzta specializes in frozen bakery products. The Los Angeles-based company’s portfolio includes baked goods from La Brea Bakery, Otis Spunkmeyer, Oakrun Farm Bakery and Pennant.
