Casey’s General Stores is putting its BBQ Brisket Pizza back on the menu for a limited time, after an outpouring of requests on social media.

Casey’s launched the pizza (pictured) in summer 2022. It’s topped with barbeque sauce, mozzarella and cheddar cheeses, hand-trimmed brisket pieces, jalapenos and red onion, and then drizzled with creamy ranch. Like all Casey’s pizzas, the BBQ Brisket pizza starts with made-from-scratch dough.

It’s unclear when Casey’s removed the pizza from its menu and for how long it will remain. CSP has reached out to Ankeny, Iowa-based Casey’s for comment, but has yet to receive a response.

Casey’s released a message a few days ago on its social media platforms, apologizing for removing the pie from its menu. On Facebook, it introduced the message with: “We did a bad thing, and now it’s time for us to make it right.”

“Where do we even start…,” the official message began. “First of all, we owe you a huge apology. We’re sorry for removing the BBQ Brisket Pizza from our menu. We know it wasn’t just food—it was an identity, a deeply personal connection between you, melted cheese and slow-smoked perfection. We took it off the menu too fast.”

Casey’s then acknowledged the outpouring on social media: “Thanks to your DMs, TikToks, and general unhinged BBQ devotion—we’re officially bringing it back. That’s right: BBQ Brisket Pizza has returned for a limited time.”

The message closed with, “With love and a side of ranch, Casey’s.”

Casey’s is currently calling for applications to its 2025 Innovation Summit, a competitive event that began in 2024 focusing on finding brands with new, unique products to distribute across the retailer’s more than 2,900 stores.

Casey’s operates  in the greater Midwest under the Casey’s and goodstop brands and in Texas under the Lone Star Food Stores and CEFCO brands. The company is the third-largest convenience-store retailer, the fourth-largest holder of liquor licenses and the fifth-largest pizza chain in the United States.
