Chester’s Chicken, which offers fried chicken in convenience stores, truckstops and supermarkets, is calling the relaunch of its fried chicken sandwich juicier and more tender than the original.

Boasting a new bun, new bird and new sauce, “the new sandwich is built with a specially marinated and double-breaded whole breast fillet, topped with Chester’s bold and tangy award-winning signature sauce and crunchy crinkle cut dill pickles, all on a Martin’s famous potato roll,” the Birmingham, Alabama-based fresh fried chicken quick-service restaurant concept said. “The result is a juicier, crispier, more flavorful version of the chicken sandwich that made Chester’s famous.”

“If you love fried chicken sandwiches, prepare to meet the new boss,” said Scott Richard, director of culinary innovation, at Chesters Chicken, which has 1,100 locations across the country. “We’re constantly looking at ways to innovate and make our menu even better. We made all the right tweaks to perfect our new fried chicken sandwich and the taste is a knockout we know guests will crave.”

Chester’s introduced its fried chicken sandwich in 2019 at the onset of the chicken sandwich QSR industry wars, since becoming a fan favorite and selling 3 million in 2022, the company said.

ArrowStream Partnership

In other news, Chester’s has partnered with ArrowStream Inc., a foodservice cloud platform for supply chain intelligence with a network of more than 275 chain operators across 100,000 restaurant locations, 1,300 distribution locations and 10,000 manufacturers.

With aggressive growth plans, Chester’s partnered with ArrowStream to streamline its supply chain and create a more robust support system to ensure their franchisees are getting the right products, for the right price, and on time, the Buffalo Grove, Illinois-based company said

“ArrowStream will have a significant impact on profitability for both Chester’s and our franchisees,” said Jonathan Wilhite, chief financial officer at Chester’s.

With a complex distribution network and data residing in disparate systems, Chester’s needed a centralized visibility solution to proactively manage inventory and ensure purchasing compliance, ArrowStream said. Through ArrowStream, Chester’s will eliminate their manual processes and modernize its supply chain management and operations.

“Having worked with ArrowStream in the past, I know first-hand how impactful and necessary their solutions are to effective supply chain management,” said Cindy Wishon, director of purchasing and distribution at Chester’s. “In addition, their responsiveness and how they engage with their customers is exceptional. They are a built-in extension of our team ready to go.”

Chester’s marinated chicken is double breaded using an old family recipe. The brands menu includes bone-in chicken, tenders, bites, sandwiches and potato wedges as well as breakfast, homestyle sides, dipping sauces and desserts.
