BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Effective June 4, Ben Lucky has joined fried chicken concept company Chester's International as manager of franchise business consultants.

In this capacity, Lucky will be responsible for directing the franchise business consultant team and overseeing all activities related to the operations of Chester's franchise stores. Lucky comes to the company with 17 years foodservice development and franchise sales experience, the company said. During his tenure with Exxon Mobil Corp., he developed and grew sales throughout Central America in more than 150 companies or dealer-operated retail stores. With Chevron Corp., his most recent experience, Lucky managed relationships, products, placement, pricing, promotions and presentation of foodservice, coffee and fountain categories; developed a fresh food program and all components, taking the project from concept to marketplace.

He is fluent in Spanish and has worked in both the Latin America and Caribbean markets.

He will be relocating to Birmingham, Ala., from Florida, said the company.

Birmingham-based Chester's International offers quick-serve restaurant (QSR) concepts with more than 1,700 Chester Fried licensed and Chester's franchised locations. It features flexible size and store layout options, training and support for its products. Chester's uses fresh chicken that is specially marinated and double-breaded using a proprietary family recipe and offers bone-in, tenders and potato wedges as well as sandwiches, wraps, salads, breakfast and sides.
