
Convenience stores will be honoring veterans on Monday, Nov. 11, with deals in foodservice—and more.
Among the chains that have announced Veterans Day offers:
Sheetz
Sheetz, Altoona, Pennsylvania, will show its respect and gratitude for veterans and active-duty military personnel by offering a free meal and car wash.
The meal is a free half turkey sub and a regular-size fountain drink. The offer includes extras and add-ons to the sub.
Sheetz also will offer a free car wash to veterans and active duty military. This offer only applies to the $9 car wash option and is only available at Sheetz stores that have a car wash. Qualifying customers must present military ID or proof of service.
The chain is also encouraging customers to donate their loyalty points in November to the United Service Organizations (USO). Two hundred loyalty points will equate to a $1 donation to the USO via the Sheetz app.
Maverik
At Salt Lake City-based Maverik and Kum & Go, which Maverik bought last year, service members can get a free bean-to-cup coffee, up to a large, as a thank you for their service.
From Colombian and Dark Brazilian to House Blend and High Caffeine, the bean-to-cup machines brew freshly ground coffee blends from around the world. Military personnel can choose from a wide range of premium roasts.
Casey’s
Ankeny, Iowa-based Casey’s General Stores, Ankeny, Iowa, is thanking past and present service members by offering a free coffee or fountain drink of any size Nov. 11. Casey’s is extending the same offer year-round to active-duty military personnel and on-duty, uniformed first responders, including law enforcement, fire and emergency medical services (EMS).
Mirabito
Binghamton, New York-based chain Mirabito is giving veterans a free coffee in any size by showing a valid ID.
TravelCenters of America
Active-duty military, veterans and reservists can receive a complimentary meal at TravelCenters of America, a chain owned by BP America, Chicago.
Wawa
Wawa will offer free any-size hot coffee to veterans, active military members and their families all day, with no military ID required, on Nov. 11 at all of its more than 1,000 convenience stores.
Through its annual Operation Taste of Home initiative supported by the USO of Pennsylvania and Southern New Jersey, the Wawa, Pennsylvania-based chain also will send coffee care packages to military currently deployed abroad. This year, Wawa associates and members of the USO, Air National Guard and Army National Guard assembled more than 10,000 packages.
The Wawa Foundation also presented a check to the USO for $1,012,305.05 from funds raised through in-store coin and scan campaigns held at every store during the summer. The chain distributes the funds to the USO chapters in its operating areas. Since 2012, The foundation has raised more than $13 million.
Rutter’s
Rutter’s will honor veterans and active military by giving a free coffee in any size to those in uniform or who present a valid military ID.
GPM Investments
GPM is giving a free coffee in any size to veterans. GPM is owned Arko Corp., Richmond, Virginia.
Stewart’s Shops
All Ballston Spa, New York-based Stewart's Shops customers can buy a 50-cent single scoop cone Nov. 11.
Love’s
Veterans or current military members can get a free roller grill item and fountain drink or coffee with the purchase of a roller grill item at Oklahoma City-based Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores.
Pilot Co.
Pilot, Knoxville, Tennessee, is saluting those who have served by offering a free meal to active, retired or veteran service members and their families Nov. 11 at participating locations nationwide. Veterans and their families can receive a meal credit worth up to $12 that can be claimed through the MyRewardsPlus app.
Additionally, Pilot will continue its long-standing support of the Call of Duty Endowment with a $100,000 donation to kickstart this year’s round-up campaign and invites customers to join in contributing to the endowment to help veterans transition into rewarding civilian careers after military service.
