LINCOLNSHIRE, Ill. -- Crown Brands LLC has purchased the foodservice arm of The Oneida Group, a global marketer of tabletop and food preparation products. The move continues to diversify Crown Brands’ portfolio of front- and back-of-house offerings.

As part of the acquisition, Crown Brands will now operate The Oneida Group’s foodservice dinnerware, flatware and crystal glass operations.

“This acquisition deepens our relevance within the industry and introduces the full Crown portfolio into areas that were not available to us prior,” said John Schroeder, executive vice-president of Crown Brands. “When combining Oneida with Crown’s core brands of Update, Focus Foodservice, Tomlinson, Co-Rect barware and Johnson-Rose, we are able to provide our partners with solutions across a wide spectrum of categories of product shipping from one location that makes us a truly unique partner in the industry.”

The deal is Crown Brand’s second acquisition in the past three months. The Lincolnshire, Ill.-based company acquired Tomlinson Industries, a manufacturer of faucets and fittings for beverage and liquid dispensing; however, the transaction also allows the company to leverage Tomlinson’s cooking equipment brands.

Crown Brands, a distributor of smallwares and other commercial foodservice products, was founded in 2014 through the acquisition and alignment of Johnson-Rose, Co-Rect Products and Focus Foodservice. Update International joined the Lincolnshire, Ill.-based company’s portfolio in 2015.
