Cubby's Opens 18th Godfather's Pizza

Convenience store chain adds Godfather's Express unit

GOTHENBURG, Neb. --Godfather's Pizza Express, the nontraditional version of the 40-year-old pizza chain, recently opened its doors in a new Cubby's convenience store in Gothenburg, Neb. The newest location marks the 18th Cubby's store with Godfather's Pizza Express,

The Omaha, Neb.-based convenience store chain has 33 locations in Nebraska, Iowa and South Dakota.

"Cubby's has been a great partner with Godfather's Pizza for seven years," said Dave Gartlan, director of franchise development for Godfather's Pizza Inc. "We are excited about our growth with Cubby's because they run great stores and do an excellent job of executing our program."

The new nontraditional location will carry mini and large pizzas, calzones, monkey bread and many more sides with little to no wait time with the Grab 'n Go program.

"We are extremely excited about adding our 18th Godfather's Express location in our new store in Gothenburg, Nebraska. As always, the training and support from Godfather's has been outstanding and helped us hit the ground running," said De Lone Wilson, president of Cubby's. "It is really showing in our initial sales figures at that location."

Godfather's Pizza has more than 435 nontraditional stores with two nontraditional models--Delivery & Carryout and Express.

Godfather's Pizza has more than 600 locations in more than 40 states ranging from traditional dine-in restaurants to express outlets such as airports, convenience stores and college campuses.
