
Convenience-store chain EG America is introducing new grab-and-go food options with the summer travel season in mind.
The limited-time Cheesy Chicken Fajita Tornado, available exclusively at EG America stores, is a “fusion of Tex-Mex flavors and crispy satisfaction,” the Westborough, Massachusetts-based company said.
It combines charbroiled chicken strips with a blend of cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses, plus green and red bell peppers, and onions. They’re priced at $2.29 or two for $4.
In addition, there are new snack wraps featuring homestyle or buffalo chicken wrapped in a flour tortilla with melty American cheese. Get one for $2.49 or two for $4.

“We know summer travel is all about convenience, value and of course great flavors,” said Mendy Meriwether, vice president of food, dispensed beverage and QSR. “We’re thrilled to serve up fast, flavorful and budget-friendly bites that keep our guests energized and smiling—no matter where the road leads.”
In addition to the food offerings, EG America also is now offering Sour Patch Kids’ watermelon-flavored Hyperfreeze, which will be available at stores that carry the Hyperfreeze line of frozen beverages.
EG America recently launched an Express Case with new fresh food offerings, including an assortment of cold sandwiches in new clamshell packaging—and new items from Chobani, Sabra, Hillshire Farm, Kings Hawaiian and more.
“Our new grab-and-go options are for guests looking for something quick, fresh and easy-to-eat,” said Kate Weisman, category manager of commissary. “We recognize our guests are busy and often eat on the road, especially during the summer, so these new delicious ready-to-go food options provide the ease, quality and variety guests are looking for at an affordable price."
Founded in 2001 by the Issa family, Blackburn, United Kingdom-based EG Group is a gasoline forecourt and retail convenience operator with more than 6,200 sites across the United Kingdom and Ireland, Europe, the United States and Australia. In 2018, EG Group established itself in the United States as EG America by acquiring Kroger’s 762-site c-store network, which included the Turkey Hill, Loaf 'N Jug, Kwik Shop, Tom Thumb and Quik Stop banners. It acquired TravelCenters of America’s Minit Mart convenience-store business in 2018. The portfolio included 225 c-stores.
