RICHMOND, Va. — GPM Investments LLC has added a fried chicken filet sandwich at 150 value menu deli locations. The sandwiches are sold in a select number of GPM’s community of convenience-store brands, including Fas Mart, EZ Mart, Village Pantry, Scotchman and others.
The value menu, which the company said it introduced last summer to offer customers convenient, affordable and quality foods during difficult economic times, includes hot dogs, chicken nuggets, hamburgers, fried chicken drumsticks and now a fried chicken filet sandwich.
- GPM Investments is No. 7 on CSP’s Top 40 Update to the 2020 Top 202 ranking of U.S. c-store chains by store count.
“It’s a fried crispy and juicy all-breast meat chicken filet with Southern homestyle breading on a bun with two slices of pickle,” said Ray Zeiher, senior category manager of foodservice at GPM.
The chicken sandwich’s promotional pricing is two for $3, five for $6 and 10 for $10.
"We’re always looking for new ways to meet the needs of our customers,” Zeiher said. "Our newly introduced value menu offers quality foods that are at a great price and on trend, so grabbing a bite to eat on the go is quick and easy. We’re looking forward to this new chicken sandwich offering and continuing to grow and evolve our value menu."
The value menu began with just one menu item, two for $1 hot dogs, and after selling more than 1 million of those, it has evolved and expanded to more than 450 stores. Current menu offerings vary by location. The value menu also allows customers to mix and match select items for the same promotional pricing as the chicken sandwich.
Chicken-related products have been particularly popular recently.
