Juanita's Foods Appoints VP of Sales

Thompson previously was with Ruiz

WILMINGTON, Calif. -- Juanita's Foods has appointed John Thompson to the position of vice president of sales. Thompson joined prepared Mexican foods company Juanita's Foods in April 2004 and will report directly to Ricardo Alvarez, president and CEO of Juanita's Foods.

John has over 30 years of sales and broker management experience in the food industry, said Alvarez, Since his appointment as director of salesfoodservice/alternate channels in 2004, he has contributed significantly to Juanita's growth and customer service initiatives.

Among his duties, Thompson will provide direction and leadership to the sales and customer service teams. Prior to joining Juanita's Foods, he served as vice president sales for Country Pure Foods, Akron, Ohio, and vice president of sales for Ruiz Foods Inc., Dinuba, Calif.

Wilmington, Calif.-based Juanita's Foods is a major manufacturer and distributor of prepared Menudo, a popular Mexican stew. It also offers a full line of restaurant-quality refrigerated Mexican entrees (two pork, two beef and two chicken varieties), canned Mexican Soups such as Pozole (both pork and chicken), Meatball Soup, Cocido de Res and Caldo de Pollo and canned entrees such as Chile Verde and Chile Colorado, Mexican-style hominy, hot and mild sauces and easy-to-make Mexican beverages. Products are sold under the Juanita's, Juanita's Foods, Juanita's Foods Mexican Gourmet, Tia Anita's and Pico Pica brands.
