Krispy Krunchy Chicken Inks Partnership With New Orleans Pelicans

Brand is now the official fried chicken of the sports franchise

LAFAYETTE, La. -- Krispy Krunchy Chicken is teaming up with the NBA’s New Orleans Pelicans to market its quick-service foodservice offerings. The brand is now the official fried chicken of the sports franchise.

As part of the partnership, Krispy Krunchy Chicken will exclusively operate three fried chicken stands in the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, where the basketball team plays.

Besides supplying spectators with its signature chicken, sides and seafood, the company will sponsor two in-game fan experiences. When the clock hits the five-minute mark during a home game, TVs and displays will declare it's “Krunch Time.”

Krispy Krunchy Chicken is also hosting a “Fowl Line” promotion in the fourth quarter of games. If an opposing-team player misses two consecutive free throws, anyone holding a ticket stub from the game can score a free small side from any nearby Krispy Krunchy Chicken location.

“We are thrilled to be sponsoring a great team like the New Orleans Pelicans,” said Dan Shapiro, executive vice president of Krispy Krunchy. “We’re having fun with the Pelicans ‘Krunch Time’ and ‘Fowl Line’ promotions. This partnership is a great fit for both brands.”

Lafayette, La.-based Krispy Krunchy Chicken has more than 2,400 locations in 46 U.S. states, American Samoa and Malaysia.
