SALTY LAKE CITY — Convenience-store retailer Maverik Inc. will offer loyalty members some of its most popular food and beverage items for 92 cents on Sept. 30 to celebrate its 92nd birthday.

Maverik stores in the Intermountain West region—Nevada, Utah, Idaho, Montana, Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Texas—will offer fan-favorite items between midnight and 10 p.m. on Sept. 30. Items include one-liter-sized Brisk Iced Tea and Coca-Cola Energy, any size coffee and pink sugar cookie bars. Other items will be available for buy-one, get-one for 92 cents, including regular-sized candy, CheezIt snacks and Maverik Adventure Fuel 1.5-ounce jerky sticks.

“Celebrating our 92nd birthday with a 92-cent selection of customers’ favorite tasty treats is a fun way to honor the day,” said Chuck Magglet, chief adventure guide for Maverik. “We also want to take this birthday opportunity to thank customers for their loyalty over the years.”

Maverik’s birthday deals are exclusively for Maverik Adventure Club loyalty members that present an Adventure Club or upgraded Nitro card at the time of purchase. Customers can join the Adventure Club via Maverik’s mobile app.

Maverik was founded in 1928 by Reuel Call, a 20-year-old who used money from selling roller skates to open a two-pump gas station in Afton, Wyo. Today, Salt Lake City-based Maverik —which calls itself "Adventure's First Stop"—has more than 340 convenience stores in 11 states. The chain targets young adventure seekers and outdoor enthusiasts by establishing itself as a "base camp" for activities such as off-roading, biking, canoeing and mountain climbing and incorporating them into the stores' concept and decor. It is No. 23 on CSP's 2020 Top 202 ranking of the largest c-store chains.
