“This year, it’s such a great feeling to enjoy being with family and friends that we haven’t seen in a while,” says Brian Ferguson, chief merchant for Knoxville, Tenn.-based Pilot Flying J. “Nothing says summertime quite like a backyard barbecue or a road trip with loved ones and an Oscar Mayer hot dog, especially a free one.”
At Irving, Texas-based 7-Eleven, the c-store chain is offering its quarter-pound Big Bite 100% beef hot dog for $1 at participating stores for the rest of July.
In addition, as part of its 7/11 birthday promotion, the chain is offering a free Slurpee via a drink coupon through July 31. The coupon is available through the 7Rewards loyalty program found in the 7-Eleven app. And all summer, small Slurpees are $1.
“7-Eleven's Big Bite hot dogs and Slurpee drinks are American icons, and while they’re enjoyed year-round, summertime is their time to shine, with millions stopping by to grab a Big Bite hot dog and a Slurpee on their way to the lake, pool, home from a game or just to satisfy a craving,” said Robin Murphy, fresh food product director.
At Westlake, Ohio-based TravelCenters of America, hot dogs are 99 cents each. There is no limit on the number of hot dogs customers can purchase.
