Parkland Continues Investment in Made-to-Order Foodservice

Company expands partnership with QSR brand Triple O’s
Parkland Made to Order

CALGARY, Alberta — Parkland Fuel Corp. has extended its partnership with quick-service restaurant (QSR) chain Triple O’s to enter a new set of markets in Canada.

According to the new agreement, Parkland will open Triple O’s restaurants in c-stores in Alberta and Ontario. Parkland currently offers Triple O’s in its convenience stores in British Columbia.

“We look forward to working with Triple O’s to expand their presence in British Columbia and launch their high-quality food brand and award-winning menu into Alberta and Ontario,” said Ian White, senior vice president of strategic marketing and innovation for Parkland Fuel. “As part of our organic growth strategy, our goal is to include a high-quality food offering in every new and retrofitted On the Run convenience store.”

Although c-stores tapping into QSRs is customary, the partnerships have grown in recent years as consumers increasingly demand unique foodservice offerings in the channel. Since 2018, 7-Eleven has brought the Laredo Taco Company to more than 500 Stripes and 7-Eleven locations and has included the QSR in its new Evolution stores. TravelCenters of America, which operates in 43 U.S. states, brought IHOP, Boston Market and Black Bear Diners to various stores in 2019, while Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores has a Chester’s International at 113 locations and chains such as Circle K and MAPCO offer Krispy Krunchy Chicken.

“This is an exciting day for the Triple O’s family,” said Warren Erhart, president of White Spot Hospitality, parent company of Triple O’s. “We have a longstanding and successful partnership with Parkland in British Columbia and look forward to expanding on this success in new markets.”

Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Triple O’s offers burgers, breakfast sandwiches, gourmet milkshakes, coffee and more. Besides c-stores, the company operates at various university and college campuses and at Canadian venues such as Playland, Rogers Arena and Pacific Coliseum.
