Here’s what the Ballston Spa, New York-based convenience-store chain is offering, by category:

Doughnuts and Pastries

  • Iced Apple muffins and Pumpkin muffins (bottom right): Available now, the Iced Apple muffin is full of apple flavor and topped with a sweet glaze. The Pumpkin muffin is a spiced pumpkin treat that returns Sept. 3.
  • Apple Cider Doughnuts (left): “Is it really an Upstate fall if you don't treat yourself to some Apple Cider Doughnuts?” Stewart’s Shops asked. “This fall classic is available now at the coffee counter for the perfect morning treat, or take home a six-pack and enjoy them all season long.”
  • Apple Empanadas (top right): These sweet empanadas with a light, flaky crust and cinnamon apples arrive at select shops Sept. 2. A two-pack is $5.

Ice Cream

  • Philly’s Apple Pie (center bottom): Stewart’s Shops’ classic Philly Vanilla ice cream meets apple and shortbread pieces, tied together with a cinnamon creme swirl.
  • Pumpkin To Talk About: This decadent pumpkin-flavored ice cream includes a cheesecake swirl and churro pieces.
  • Pumpkin Pie: “It’s a slice of pumpkin pie, all in one scoop,” Stewart’s Shops said of this pumpkin pie-flavored ice cream loaded with graham cracker pie crust pieces. It returns to the ice cream counter Sept. 9.

Drinks

  • Apple Orchard Shake (center top): This signature milkshake is new to the fall flavor lineup at Stewart’s Shops, which calls it a “thick and dreamy milkshake made with our Philly’s Apple Pie ice cream, a sweet caramel swirl, and topped with whipped cream.”
  • Pumpkin Spice Cold Brew Refresher: This new beverage is smooth, slightly sweet and pumpkin spiced.
  • Pumpkin Spice Hot Coffee: Back on the menu, this beverage is a rich blend of pumpkin and cozy spices.

RaceTrac enters uncharted territory with its Potbelly acquisition

The Bottom Line: There has never been a purchase of a restaurant chain the size of the sandwich brand Potbelly by a convenience-store chain. History suggests it could be a difficult road.

Wondering about Wonder
