Petro Stopping Cooks Up Iron Skillet Promotion

Raises more than $48,000 for USO

EL PASO, Texas -- Petro Stopping Centers has announced the results of its recent promotion to raise money for the United Services Organization (USO) and presented a check for $48,842 to the USO at the Fort Bliss, Texas, USO Club.

Petro pledged $1 to the USO for every chicken fried steak dinner ordered in the month of May and also sold I Support our Troops window clings with all proceeds going to the USO.

Our customers and employees demonstrated their deep support and appreciation for our military forces with the money that was [image-nocss] raised in this effort, said David McClure, marketing director for Petro Stopping Centers.

In acknowledging the contribution, Kathy Mejasich, vice president of corporate alliances for the USO stated, We gratefully accept this check on behalf of the service men and women we support. These funds will greatly assist as we work through USO units all over the world to improve the morale and well-being of our U.S. military personnel and their families. It is very satisfying and encouraging to partner with companies like Petro as they help fund the USO.

She added, And those USO decals will be out there for a long time as friendly reminders of what the USO is all about.

Petro Stopping Centers, which is owned by TravelCenters of America LLC, offers diesel and gasoline fueling services, restaurants, heavy truck repair facilities, stores and other services and facilities that are designed to meet the needs of today's professional drivers and general motorists.

For more than 66 years, the USO has been providing morale, welfare and recreational services to the U.S. military personnel and their families. The USO is a nonprofit, charitable organization, relying on the generosity of the American people to support its programs and services.
