Petro's Iron Skillet Supports USO

Will make donation with every chicken fried steak dinner sold in May

EL PASO, Texas -- Travel plaza chain Petro Stopping Centers and the USO have announced two fundraising partnerships.

Throughout May, a one dollar donation will be made to the USO for every Chicken Fried Steak dinner ordered at any of Petro's 54 Iron Skillet Restaurants nationwide. In addition, Iron Skillet Restaurants will be selling USO window decals for $1. All proceeds raised will support USO programs and services for military personnel and their families.

We want to continue to do well for the community and support our troops [image-nocss] in Iraq, said Jim Cardwell, president of Petro Stopping Centers. We also want to give our customers an opportunity to contribute to the community.

USO president and CEO Edward A. Powell said, We are excited about this promotion with Petro Stopping Centers. With their support, the USO can continue to make a difference in the lives of service members and their families.

The USO currently operates more than 130 centers around the world, each providing morale-boosting programs and services to service members and their families. Programs include USO Operation Phone Home, Operation USO Care Package, United through Reading, the USO Mobile Fleet, USO entertainment tours and Operation Enduring Care. USO centers offer free e-mail and Internet access, prepaid international phone cards, entertainment and lounge areas, libraries and travel assistance.

El Paso, Texas-based Petro Stopping has 66 facilities located in 32 states. Of these locations, 43 are company-operated facilities and 23 are franchised facilities. The facilities are situated at convenient locations with easy highway access and target the unique needs of professional truck drivers. It offers a variety of products, services, and amenities, including diesel fuel, gasoline, home-style Iron Skillet restaurants, Petro:Lube truck service centers and travel and convenience stores.
