Pittsburgh Association of Manufacturers Representatives Honors Sheetz

Recognizes retailer for contributions to food industry

ALTOONA, Pa. -- The Pittsburgh Association of Manufacturers Representatives (PAMR) recently honored Sheetz Inc. for its outstanding contributions to the food industry. The chain received the 2013 Retailer of the Year award in late November.

Sheetz Made to Order MTO

PAMR gives annual Retailer of the Year honors to the company it feels demonstrated innovation in consumer sales. Sheetz has worked closely with dozens of vendor partners to stock their merchandise in more than 230 stores across Pennsylvania.

"Our ability to be successful here in Pennsylvania is due in large part to the help PAMR gives both manufacturers and retailers," says Louie Sheetz, executive Vice President of marketing for Sheetz. "Brand revitalization is critical to the longevity of any product. We have always appreciated the work PAMR does to represent companies that create those products and keeping them relevant on our sales floors."

PAMR celebrates 100 years in service to supermarkets, convenience stores, mass merchandising and retail drug providers.

The selection of Sheetz as this year's winner was made in recognition of the superior standards shown from the executive level to the employees that staff Sheetz locations around the clock.

Established in 1952 in Altoona, Pa., Sheetz is one of America's fastest growing family-owned and operated convenience restaurant chains, with more than $5 billion in annual revenue and more than 15,000 employees. The company operates 425 locations throughout Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Maryland, Virginia, Ohio and West Virginia. Sheetz provides an award-winning menu of Made-to-Order (MTO) subs, sandwiches and salads, which are ordered through unique touchscreen order-point terminals. Sheetz currently ranks on the Best Places to Work list in North Carolina, Ohio and Virginia, and has been on the list in Pennsylvania for ten consecutive years. All Sheetz convenience restaurants are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
