Promotions at Alto-Shaam

Hansen named chair, CEO; Maahs succeeds her as president, COO

MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. -- Foodservice equipment maker Alto-Shaam Inc. has announced two promotions.

Karen Hansen, who started with Alto-Shaam in September 1986 and was promoted to president and chief operations officer in 2002, will take on the new role of chief executive officer and chairman of the board for Alto-Shaam in July.

She will maintain her position as president of Enthermics Medical Systems, a sister company in the medical field that produces blanket and fluid warmers.

Also moving up the corporate [image-nocss] ladder is Steven Maahs, who will become president and chief operations officers of Alto-Shaam, succeeding Hansen. Maahs started with the company in 1988 holding various positions; in 1990, he was promoted to national sales manager, and then again in 2002 to executive vice president. As chief operations officer, he will be involved in the operation of Alto-Shaam at the corporate level.

Since its beginnings in 1955, Menomonee Falls, Wis.-based Alto-Shaam has grown into a major international manufacturer of solutions-driven foodservice equipment to restaurants, supermarkets and institutions. With offices in Canada, France, Germany and Singapore, Alto-Shaam offers a variety of equipment such as cook & hold ovens, convection ovens, combi ovens, holding cabinets, smokers, heated buffets, display cases and fryers, among other products.
