Convenience-store chain QuickChek is launching new deals for summer, including two new sub offerings, $3 lattes after 3 p.m., Nerds cookie and shake mashups and cool colada smoothies.

The $4.99 menu includes 6-inch subs and the all-new subwiches, served both warm or cold on fresh-baked bread. The new subwich handles like a sandwich but eats like a sub, the Whitehouse Station, New Jersey-based c-store chain said.

“Every recipe our chefs create brings our customers something rooted in our community,” said Blake Segal, senior vice president and head of QuickChek. “That’s why we use fresh-baked bread delivered daily from a local bakery, creamy locally sourced mozzarella, and espresso beans roasted right in New Jersey. When you bite into one of our subs, sip one of our lattes, or enjoy any of our made-to-order items, you’re tasting the heart of our towns.”

Other savings from the made-to-order menu include customers who buy a breakfast sandwich can purchase a coffee, hot or iced, for 99 cents from the self-serve coffee bar. The c-store chain is launching a Ube Vanilla blend in May and will bring a Boardwalk Blend as the blend of the month in June, which taste like summer and s’mores, the company said.

  • QuickChek is owned by Murphy USA, No. 4 on CSP’s 2024 Top 202 ranking of U.S. convenience-store chains by store count. Look out for the full list in June.

As part of the c-store chain’s “summer of more” offerings, customers can purchase their favorite latte hot or cold, made with locally roasted espresso beans for $3.

Other summer treats include:

  • A shake or jumbo cookie with Nerds candies in the mix.
  • Two king-size Reese’s Big Cup PB&J in either grape or strawberry for $5.
  • A pina, mango or strawberry colada smoothie made with real fruit.

RaceTrac enters uncharted territory with its Potbelly acquisition

The Bottom Line: There has never been a purchase of a restaurant chain the size of the sandwich brand Potbelly by a convenience-store chain. History suggests it could be a difficult road.
