Six new 2.5-ounce and 3.75-ounce Rustic Scone Dough offerings bring Rich Products’ Scone Dough Portfolio to more than 20 options in rustic and classic flavors.

The scones are made with wholesome, high-quality ingredients the company said rival the freshness of local bakeries. “Rich’s scone dough is pre-cut and goes from the freezer to the oven, requiring minimal labor and creating an enticing aroma throughout the store,” it said.

Scones sell well as a breakfast item and as an indulgent treat or dessert, Rich Products said.

“They’re perfect for consumers who value freshly baked treats with made-from-scratch flavor,” the company said, noting a report from CSP sister Technomic that scones are gaining popularity beyond breakfast, with 37% of operators report selling scones as an afternoon or evening snack.

“Rich’s Scones enable c-store operators to offer a wider selection of baked goods, elevating their bakery case or menu to satisfy breakfast, snack and dessert cravings,” said Alyssa Barrett, customer marketing manager of convenience for Rich Products. “Consumers are willing to pay higher prices for less common sweet-baked good items like scones. Rich’s offers c-stores a vast portfolio of scone options in multiple shapes, sizes, and flavors to meet every customer’s taste.”

Rich’s Rustic Scones are crafted from a traditional European recipe with wholesome ingredients, full of premium inclusions for a handmade appearance and indulgent biscuity texture, the company said.

Rustic Scone Dough features a traditional, biscuitlike texture with shape options of round, triangle, rectangle and scalloped round. Customers can choose from blueberry, cranberry orange, cinnamon chip, chocolate chunk, and raspberry in a range of shapes and sizes including the new 2.5-ounce (120/case), new 3.75-ounce (96/case), and 4-ounce (60/case).

The Classic Scone Dough offers a cookielike, dense texture. The six flavors are blueberry, cranberry orange, cinnamon chip, chocolate chunk, caramel flavored apple and mixed berry. C-stores can offer three sizes: the 1.25-ounce triangle-shaped mini scones (240/case), the 2.5-ounce triangular scones (108/case)—a standard breakfast size—and the 10-ounce uncut square scones (40/case).

The shelf life for all the scone dough is 210 days frozen, and two-to-three days baked ambient.
