Ronnoco Acquires Dispensed Beverage Provider

Trident Beverage offers frozen and cold drinks, including more than 20 fruit juices

ST. LOUIS — Convenience-store coffee and tea provider Ronnoco Beverage Solutions has acquired Trident Beverage, a supplier of dispensed beverages, for an undisclosed amount.

The acquisition supports Ronnoco’s vision to become a single-source supplier for the beverage category, the company said. Trident’s portfolio of frozen drinks and cold beverages offers Ronnoco the opportunity to expand these offerings in its own portfolio. The deal also increases Ronnoco’s service-area footprint to 40 U.S. states as well as the K-12 market.

"We view the addition of Trident Beverage as a combination of strengths, as we continue to strategically increase market share to better provide our partners with a one-stop, full line of beverage solutions," said Terry McDaniel, CEO of Ronnoco Beverage Solutions. "We are incredibly enthused to add John [Walker], Patrick [Walker] and their dedicated team to advance our mission for continued growth and innovative expansion through our combined portfolio of high-quality products, brands and equipment focused on customer service and experience."

John Walker and Patrick Walker, president and vice president of Trident Beverage, respectively, will maintain their positions with the company.

"We are pleased to unite fronts with a company that is so aligned with our larger priorities," John Walker said. "Together, our extended line of complementary product offerings and service areas creates natural synergistic opportunities for expansion across the combined platform."

In March 2019, Ronnoco—then known as Ronnoco Coffee—acquired Beverage Solutions Group, a beverage and equipment supplier for the convenience-store and foodservice industries, and changed its name to Ronnoco Beverage Solutions. The transaction marked Ronnoco’s sixth acquisition in eight years; others included Black Waters Coffee, U.S. Roasterie Inc., International Blends and Henderson Coffee.

Houston-based Trident Beverage Inc. offers dispensed beverages to schools, day care centers, restaurants, bars and other foodservice operations in the United States. Its products include more than 20 flavors of fruit juices, iced tea, iced coffee and various cocktail mixes.

St. Louis-based Ronnoco Beverage Solutions roasts, blends, grinds, packages and distributes coffee and tea under six primary brands: Ronnoco, Seattle Roast, Coffee House, Wild Horse Creek, Henderson and Camellia. The company also provides a variety of other beverages, such as cappuccinos, hot chocolate and smoothies, as well as coffee-related products and equipment, including cups, flavoring syrups and condiments. The company is jointly owned by Detroit-based Huron Capital Partners and Ronnoco management.
