YORK, Pa. -- Convenience store retailerRutter's Farm Stores has added some classic American fare, corn dog bites, and the nation's newest flavor craze, sriracha, to the company's foodservice menu.
Rutter's new corn dog bites offer customers authentic state fair cuisine. Each order is fried to a golden brown and served with the customer's choice of condiments.
Sriracha is available as a flavor sauce for Rutter's jumbo chicken wings and beef short ribs, as well as a condiment, and it can be added to almost anything on Rutter's menu including all ultimate burgers, sandwiches, subs, wraps and more.
"The newest menu additions give us a little more variety to satisfy and delight our customers, which is always our first goal," said Jerry Weiner, Rutter's vice president of foodservice.
Other recent additions to Rutter's menu have included beef short ribs, Mahi Mahi fish bites, chicken wings, pork "wings," taco dogs, corned beef, brisket and cannoli.
In other company news, Alicia Gotwalt of Railroad, Pa., is the final winner of free gas for a year in Rutter's #SummerofFreedom sweepstakes, the convenience store retailer announced.
The #SummerofFreedom saw four grand prizewinners of free gas for a year in addition to thousands of other prizes, such as free Rutter's coffee for a year, professional baseball tickets, concert tickets, fuel discounts, free food and merchandise from Rutter's stores.
"The 2014 Summer of Freedom promotion was our most successful summer promotion to date. Not only did our customer-focused technology make it easy for customers to participate, it also simplified the way customers redeem the prizes that they won for their participation," said Rutter's chief customer officer Derek Gaskins.
York, Pa.-based Rutter's operates 60 convenience stores throughout central Pennsylvania.
