ALTOONA, Pa. — In honor of its 600th store opening in December, convenience-store retailer Sheetz Inc. has launched a contest through which consumers can win a 16-ounce bottle of the company’s private-label Boom Boom Sauce.

The contest is open to Sheetz’s loyalty members, also known as Sheetz Freakz. To enter, customers must visit a Sheetz location and enter their registered MySheetz Card number and contact information. Sheetz will select 600 customers at random to receive a free bottle of the Boom Boom Sauce.

Sheetz’s gold-colored Boom Boom Sauce is made with soybean oil, distilled vinegar, sugar, egg yolk, aged cayenne pepper, garlic, red bell pepper, chili, chili de arbol pepper and more.

This will be the first time Sheetz has bottled its sauce and made it for sale. The bottled sauce will not be available online or in stores after the contest, which runs through Dec. 6.

Established in 1952 in Altoona, Pa., Sheetz is a family-owned and -operated c-store chain with more than 580 locations in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Ohio and North Carolina. It is No. 14 on CSP's 2019 Top 202 ranking of c-store chains by number of retail locations.
