Sixt, a Germany-based mobility service provider that offers car rentals and car sharing, is looking for a “Hoagie Hunter” to eat dozens of hot turkey hoagies and determine which serves the best.

The hunter will have to gather data at up to 100 Wawa, QuikTrip, or Weigel’s locations across the country to find out which store serves the best Gobbler Hoagie or equivalent turkey sub sandwich, Sixt said. Wawa sells the Hot Wawa Gobbler (pictured).

In the role, which will pay $2,500 and one $500 convenience-store gift card, the hunter will visit various convenience-store locations across the country, assessing and recording:

  • Average time to prepare hoagie
  • Quality of filling
  • Bread quality
  • Customer service
  • Overall deliciousness of sandwich

Additional factors the hunter will need to assess:

  • Atmosphere
  • Value for money
  • Overall amenities
  • Menu size
  • Average wait time

All travel expenses and sandwich costs will be covered as the Hoagie Hunter visits the 100 locations. Only those 18 and older can apply, and they must be based in the continental United States.

Those interested can apply until Dec. 1

“Sixt is always on the lookout for ways to improve road-tripping, so we’re on the hunt for someone to help determine which gas station is home to the best hoagie,” the company said on its website. “For this official ‘Gas Station Hoagie Hunter,’ we are looking for someone who considers themselves a passionate gas station food connoisseur, has a strong opinion when it comes to the perfect balance of cheese to turkey ratios, is well-versed in the world of road trip snacks that go beyond the usual bag of chips, and smiles at the idea of turning a roadside pit stop into a five-star culinary adventure.”

The hunter will need to “travel or gather data from up to 100 of the top Wawa, QuikTrip or Weigel’s stations across the country to find out which store serves the best Gobbler Hoagie (or equivalent turkey sandwich/sub),” Sixt said.

Wawa is based in Wawa, Pennsylvania; QuikTrip in Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Weigel’s in Powell, Tennessee.
