The Spam Dog, a new item on the menu at York, Pennsylvania-based Rutter’s, features “a savory, smoky-sweet finish and a pop of nostalgia that bites back,” the convenience-store chain said.

The idea for the Spam Dog came during an on-site visit between Hormel and Rutter’s foodservice team in Minnesota last year. However, this isn’t the first time Rutter’s has sold a Spam product.

Rutter's is in its fifth year partnering with Austin, Minnesota-based Hormel Food Corp. to put Spam on the menu.
