A nationwide food donation program by Compass Group’s restaurant incubator Foodworks is hoping to bring awareness to food waste.

As part of the program, partners of the incubator donate leftover food to local charities daily, CSP sister publication Foodservice Director reports.

Several events are being held to draw attention to the launch and to showcase Compass Group’s Stop Food Waste Day, which was held April 26.

For example, Foodworks partner OneSeed is hosting a pop-up in New York City. There, customers can get dog treats containing kitchen ingredients that otherwise would have been tossed in the garbage.
