TUCSON, Ariz. A new promotion from Taco Bell offers one free taco daily for 30 days with a subscription ranging from $5 to $10.

Not a bad deal, considering the tacos being sold are valued from $1.49 to $1.99.

The available-only-by-app Taco Lover’s Pass, currently being tested by Taco Bell in 17 Tucson locations, includes the Crunchy Taco, Crunchy Supreme Taco, Doritos Locos Tacos, Doritos Locos Tacos Supreme, Soft Supreme Taco and Spicy Potato Soft Taco. The pass can be found in the app’s online exclusives.

The deal encourages use of Irvine, Calif.-based Taco Bell’s app, but the chain expects customers will order extras along with their daily free tacowhich has been the case with recent subscription programs at other restaurants.

Panera Bread launched an unlimited coffee-and-tea subscription in February 2020. Customers pay $8.99 monthly and can get a beverage once every two hours. By October 2020, Panera had nearly 500,000 paying subscribers.
