CHICAGO — In the second quarter of 2022, 43.9% of restaurant menus made reference to pickled ingredients, according to CSP sister company Technomic.
With a number like that, convenience-store retailers might want to sit up and take notice that pickles, quite apparently, are hot.
Langel’s Pizza in Indiana, for example, said in a YouTube post that its Big Dill Pizza is “bringing people out of the woodwork,” CSP sister publication Restaurant Business reported.
In addition to pickles themselves, pickling has taken off as well, with restaurants pickling potatoes, pineapples and more, Restaurant Business said.
