CHICAGO — Leap Day, which occurs once every four years, is upon us, and to celebrate, convenience-store chains are rolling out food and beverage limited-time offers.
Here are some of the chains offering specials Feb. 29 …
7-Eleven will offer whole pizzas for $2.29 at select locations to celebrate Leap Day. The offer will be available in stores as well as for delivery through the company’s 7Now mobile app. First-time users of the 7Now app will receive a $29 discount on any delivery order of more than $50 with the promo code 29OFF50.
7-Eleven’s oven-baked pizzas come in cheese, pepperoni and extreme meat varieties. They can be served with fruit, fresh-made green salads or bone-in and boneless wings.
For the fourth year in a row, Stripes Stores, a division of 7-Eleven, will release limited-edition, collectible cups featuring singer Selena at stores in Texas. The cups will be available at 9 a.m. Feb. 29 while supplies last. Customers can purchase up to six cups per person.
The cups come in two designs. The first has original artwork from Christa Palazzolo, an artist inspired by Selena. The second illustrates 25 years of celebrating Selena’s legacy and career, and it comes with a bright yellow flip lid. Both cups are dishwasher-safe.
Kwik Chek will have a taco special for Leap Day. The company is offering free tacos all day Feb. 29, and it will also award free tacos for a year to two customers through a contest.
