One of five convenience-retail units run by Cincinnati-based Kroger Cos., Turkey Hill Minit Markets provide fresh food and beverages in addition to pay-at-the pump gasoline at 239 of its approximately 260 stores in Pennsylvania, Ohio and Indiana.

Kroger operates nearly 800 convenience stores under six banners in 19 states, with its c-stores providing synergies for the rapid expansion of its supermarket fuel centers. Most stores are owned and operated by the company, but some QuikStop Markets in California and Nevada are franchised. The convenience stores concentrate on small- to medium-sized towns located near interstate highways. Two-thirds of the stores are located in towns with fewer than 75,000 residents.

Kroger is one of the largest owner-operators of fuel centers in the United States, selling fuel in 37 states at 2,000 sites, including 1,275 supermarket fuel centers and c-stores with fuel. Its Bonus Points loyalty program offers 10 cents per gallon off fuel purchases for every 100 points earned by buying select items, or up to $1 off per gallon.
