Atlas Oil Opens New Ops Office for Michigan & Indiana

And CarterEnergy opens new product distribution center
TAYLOR, Mich. -- Atlas Oil Co. continues to expand its operational footprint with another new regional office, located in Niles, Mich. Just north of South Bend, Ind., the Niles office will be staffed by 12 Atlas team members in support of new and existing business operations throughout Southwest Michigan and Northern Indiana.

"Our strategic growth in the Michigan and Indiana markets provides a strong platform for enhancing and creating customer relationships," said Bob Kenyon, vice president of sales and operations for Atlas Oil. "Atlas intends to unveil new value-added [image-nocss] petroleum distribution models that will benefit all customers in the supply chain."

The new facility is 2,400 square feet. The office is headed by William Shaver, executive vice president of retail operations.

Atlas Oil is a national petroleum products distributor and services provider. It meets the fuel and service needs of businesses, municipalities and governments in 20 states and Ontario, Canada. Atlas also supplies fuel to nearly 400 gasoline convenience stores throughout Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio.

Headquartered in Taylor, Michigan, Atlas Oil maintains operational centers in Michigan, Indiana, Texas and Ohio and was named a "Top Workplace" in 2009 by The Detroit Free Press.

Separately, Overland Park, Kansas-based CarterEnergy recently moved its transportation team to a new product distribution center (PDC) in Kansas City, Mo., from its Riverside, Mo., location, where it was housed for the past 20 years.

The company held an open house with and ribbon-cutting ceremony in mid-December. CarterEnergy associates, drivers and their families joined the celebration, which included tours of the new facility. In attendance were CarterEnergy friends and business partners, as well as Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce members. CarterEnergy president/CEO Bryan Beaver was joined by Reed Murphy, president of MHC, and Thomas Charles, producer of Lockton Insurance, for the official cutting.

"We're excited with all the possibilities this move brings for our Kansas City fleet, and most importantly, that it brings us closer to our primary maintenance source so we can further exemplify CarterEnergy's safety statement, which states: 'There is nothing we do commercially at CarterEnergy Corporation that is worthy of compromising the well being of a human life or the environment,'" said Tim Clarke, VP Transportation and Commercial Fuels.

CarterEnergy serves as a leader in the marketing and distribution of transportation fuels, distributing 141 different energy products within the Midwest and Gulf regions. It also provides fleet and commercial fueling services in and around the Kansas City metropolitan area, and operates a fleet of transports in four major metropolitan markets.
