HOUSTON -- CITGO Petroleum Corp. has introduced TriCLEAN gasoline, which the company said is designed to maximizing engine performance and drivability. TriCLEAN is specifically tailored for and available throughout the CITGO marketing area.
This custom blend includes more nitrogen cleaning agents to keep engine parts clean for a smoother running engine that maximizes mileage and minimizes emissions, said CITGO.
"Consumers have always been able to trust CITGO gasoline in their tanks," said Gustavo Velasquez, vice president of supply and marketing at CITGO. "These recent enhancements to our fuel contribute to both better gas mileage and lower emissions which, we know, are very important to our consumers. We designed TriCLEAN gasoline with that in mind."
Working with its gasoline additive supplier, CITGO conducted engine tests with multiple sources of CITGO gasoline to determine optimal engine cleanliness and response to detergent additives. All grades of TriCLEAN gasoline contain more cleaning agents than previous fuels, which the company said provides customers with a smoother running engine. In addition, TriCLEAN gasoline meets or exceeds applicable U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and American Society for Testing & Materials (ASTM) specification requirements.
"We are committed to offering reliable, quality fuels that are guaranteed to meet automobile performance needs," said Velasquez. "With TriCLEAN, we take that promise even further because we know how much people depend on their cars to get where they need to go."
CITGO, based in Houston, is a refiner, transporter and marketer of transportation fuels, lubricants, petrochemicals and other industrial products. The company is owned by PDV America Inc., an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of Petroleos de Venezuela SA, the national oil company of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
