On-Demand Fueling Service Expands in Atlanta

Yoshi doubles its service area and grows its delivery fleet

SAN FRANCISCO -- The on-demand fuel delivery service Yoshi has expanded its reach in Atlanta.

Yoshi, which supplies gasoline, oil changes, car washes and other car-maintenance services ordered through its mobile app, has doubled its service area from downtown Atlanta, Sandy Springs, Buckhead, Midtown and Smyrna, Ga., to also include the neighborhoods of Druid Hills, Decatur, Dunwoody, Doraville and Chamblee. It also has added to its fleet of delivery trucks to accommodate the higher demand and larger service footprint.

To use Yoshi, customers order their preferred services, specify a time and provide the location of their vehicle in the Yoshi app. Services can be provided on a subscription-based or on-demand basis.

Yoshi serves both consumers and fleets in Atlanta. Some Atlanta-area employers such as Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta also provide Yoshi subscriptions to their employees as a benefit, according to the company.

“Atlanta has been one of our fastest-growing service areas,” said Nick Alexander, CEO of Yoshi. “The proportion of car commuters in Atlanta has made on-site refueling and car maintenance a popular option.”

Yoshi initially started its service in San Francisco, where it is based, and Nashville in 2015. It entered the Atlanta market in 2016. The startup recently ramped up its service area, adding Chicago, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Tampa/St. Petersburg, Fla., Cleveland and St. Louis in the first few months of 2018. Its growth is being supported by $13.7 million in a round of investments led by ExxonMobil Corp. and General Motors. It plans to expand to 25 cities by the end of 2018.
