ExxonMobil Fuels Marketing, Lubricants to Consolidate

Kelly to be named president of ExxonMobil Fuels, Lubricants & Specialties Marketing

IRVING, Texas -- Exxon Mobil Corp. is consolidating ExxonMobil Fuels Marketing Co. and ExxonMobil Lubricants & Petroleum Specialties Co. into ExxonMobil Fuels, Lubricants & Specialties Marketing Co. It said that the board of directors is anticipated to approve the consolidation effective February 1, 2012.

The board also is expected to appoint A. J. (Alan) Kelly, 54, currently president of ExxonMobil Lubricants & Petroleum Specialties, as president of the consolidated company.

The consolidation and appointment follow the retirement announcement of Harold R. Cramer, vice president of Exxon Mobil Corp. and president of ExxonMobil Fuels Marketing Co., in late November (click here for previous CSP Daily News coverage).

Kelly began his career with the company in 1981. He held a variety of positions in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Japan and the United States, working in areas including the company's fuels and lubricants marketing activities and refinery logistics and supply operations.

In 2001, he was appointed regional director of North America for ExxonMobil Lubricants & Petroleum Specialties. Kelly became general manager of corporate planning for ExxonMobil in 2003.

In 2006, he commenced a special assignment as project director of the National Petroleum Council's Global Oil & Gas Study, commissioned by the U.S. Department of Energy.

In 2007, the board of directors appointed Kelly as president of ExxonMobil Lubricants & Petroleum Specialties and elected him a vice president of the corporation.

ExxonMobil Fuels Marketing is made up of three brands providing fuels to millions of customers at 42,000 gas stations, 700 airports and 300 marine ports. Exxon-, Mobil- and Esso-branded stations can be found in 118 countries. ExxonMobil Fuels Marketing has developed a portfolio of market-specific retail formats. One of these is the On the Run convenience store concept, available at more than 800 sites in 26 countries.
