Free Fuel 5000' Finish Line

Sunoco gives away 5,000 gallons of gratis gasoline
PITTSBURGH -- Sunoco said that Ronald Samuel is the winner of its 2009 Free Fuel 5000 promotion. As this year's winner, Samuel won 5,000 gallons of Sunoco gasoline. As the official fuel of NASCAR, Sunoco's Free Fuel 5000 promotion offered millions of Sunoco customers a decal identical to the ones on every racecar in NASCAR's three top series. By getting spotted with a decal on their car, Sunoco customers were eligible to instantly win a $10 gift card and the grand prize of 5,000 gallons of Sunoco fuel.

On Aug. 3, 2009, at a Sunoco APlus station in McKeesport, Pa., Samuel [image-nocss] was spotted with a Sunoco decal on his car, earning him a Sunoco gift card and ultimately the grand prize.

Samuel was awarded the grand prize on December 16 in a ceremony at the Sunoco APlus where he was spotted.

"Sunoco would like to thank all the customers who participated in the Free Fuel 5000. Every year we continue to see the excitement grow, not only from our customers, but also from our retailers," said Andrew Kabakoff, Sunoco brand manager. "We really felt this sweepstakes engaged our customers and is a great way to promote our NASCAR sponsorship at the retail level. The promotion will be back in 2010."

Sunoco, headquartered in Philadelphia, is a leading manufacturer and marketer of petroleum and petrochemical products. With 825,000 barrels per day of refining capacity, approximately 4,700 retail sites selling gasoline and convenience items, approximately 6,000 miles of crude oil and refined product owned and operated pipelines and approximately 40 product terminals, Sunoco is one of the largest independent refiner-marketers in the United States.
