Gulf Oil Inks Partnership With Jefferson City Oil in Missouri

Deal brings brand back to Show Me State

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- Gulf Oil LP has forged a new branded partnership with Jefferson City Oil Co. Inc., a distributor of petroleum products throughout Missouri. The 10-year agreement returns the iconic motor fuel brand to communities in the Show Me State for the first time in two decades.

Jefferson City Oil, an 85-year-old family owned and operated company, has already begun converting gas stations in its service area to the Gulf brand, beginning with seven Bee Line Snack Shop locations. The companies will announce two additional sites to be converted soon, with many more to come in the years ahead.

Jefferson City Oil supplies approximately 45 retail dealer outlets, including branded and unbranded locations. Dealer supply varies from open supply to commissioned supply where Jefferson City Oil owns the petroleum equipment and provides a land or building lease. It does not operate any salaried convenience stores.

Sales and supply also includes gallons to commercial accounts via both transport and tankwagon. Jefferson City Oil operates two bulk plants with cardlocks. Lubes are a part of its operations, with 36 bulk lube storage tanks and packaged goods, within 27,000 square feet of heated warehousing.

The company is also heavily involved in the ethanol and biodiesel biofuels market, being the first to bring E-85 and B-20 Biodiesel to the Midwest, in line with following the company's history of supporting its farmer customer base. It has bulk biodiesel for transport blending outside the terminal in both Kansas City, Kansas, and Jefferson City.

It also operates a petroleum transportation company, Midland Transports, hauling bulk gasoline, diesel, aviation fuels, propane and biofuels throughout Missouri and into the surrounding states via 27 tractors and 40 trailers.

"The Gulf brand brings value to our company," co-owner Tom Kolb of Jefferson City, Mo.-based Jefferson City Oil said. "Gulf has a great image and is a trusted company with a very positive nostalgic reputation. We know that drivers will feel great about filling up their tanks with Gulf gasoline once again."

Kolb is also past president of both the Missouri Petroleum Marketers Association and the Missouri Trucking Association.

"Tom and John Kolb, third-generation owners of Jefferson City Oil Co. Inc., represent significant partners for us as we continue our national expansion and move back into areas of Missouri that haven't seen the Gulf brand in over twenty years," said Gulf Oil senior vice president and chief sales and marketing officer Rick Dery. "We are delighted to join forces with Jefferson City Oil and their successful track record of providing their customers with quality products and services at competitive rates."

Gulf Oil is a national, branded supplier of motor fuels throughout the United States and its territories. It is one of the Northeast's largest wholesalers of refined petroleum products, as well as in the rest of the country.
